To start off your day, head over to Golden Buddha Yoga. They have multiple classes every day and some movement and serenity is the perfect way to start your day. Their mission is "removing the layers of 'clay' that keep us from experiencing and sharing the radiant, Golden essence within!" This can truly be a calming and spiritual experience, as long as you make the most of your practice. Whether you're an experienced yogi or just starting out, this is a great place to find peace.
After morning yoga, you'll want to keep up the good vibes with some healthy eats. Bungalow Bowls is a great spot to get fresh fruit and acai bowls. They have a location on the boardwalk and on Asbury Ave. This is their mission statement:
Our motivation behind Bungalow Bowls was to deliver a soulful and fulfilling experience. These beliefs are rooted in providing you with natural nourishment. It has always been super important to us to know what we ingest has a direct impact on our day. The vision is truly about how you feel when you leave. Our goal is to make sure you leave feeling better than when you came in. You can know 100% there is nothing but love in our bowls. As you can see this is definitely the type of place one would go to eat and feel good. My personal favorite item they have is their "good vibrations" acai bowl, but you truly cannot go wrong with any of their menu choices!
When you're all filled up on your yummy breakfast, head on over to Peace of Wood for more relaxing and beachy vibes. If you've been following my blog and saw my last post, you know this is a place where you can be at peace while painting. Here, you can quite literally buy a piece of wood and paint whatever your heart desires on it for only $20. Just scrolling through their gallery shows just how great of a store it is, and how happy people seem to be while there! There is original artwork everywhere contributing to the overall artistic atmosphere of the place. Of course, most of the artwork is centered around the beach and Ocean City, which can make tourists feel just like locals.
Once you're done with your peaceful paint session, I would recommend going shopping along Asbury Ave, a very popular hub for businesses ranging from chic clothing to thrift stores. A few of my personal favorite stores along Asbury are; Island Gypsy, Making Waves, B&B, and 7th Street Surf Shop. Check out any of these places and you're bound to find something you'd love to take home.
After shopping for a bit, you will have worked up a good appetite. For lunch, you should stop by Yiannis Cafe on 8th and Asbury. To be fair, I must mention I am a little biased because I work there as a waitress! However, their great selection and amazing food is the reason I even applied. This little Greek restaurant has a wide variety of menu items and has plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They love to make sure all their customers know they have the "Best Bagels at the Shore since 1997!"
When you're all done with these great activities, your bank account is going to want a break! I suggest you spend the rest of the day walking around or sitting by the water (either bay or ocean). Another popular activity is biking around the island, and there are places where you can rent these for great prices. Make sure you don't forget to head to the bay around 8pm for the beautiful sunset. If you follow this day guide I am sure that you will have a fun-filled day to remember.
